FOR TOPICAL ANOINTING USE ONLY

The accompanying botanical (“hemp”) is provided together with written instructions only for the preparation of an external topical anointing oil and an external topical lotion. No prepared topical products are included with this thank-you gift. These instructions are provided to assist you in preparing your own external topical anointing products for use as symbols of prayer, consecration, worship, and devotion to Yahweh. Prayer is a personal connection with our Heavenly Father; therefore, we encourage each recipient to prepare his or her own topical anointing products.

“May my prayer be counted as incense before You; the lifting up of my hands as the evening offering.” Psalms 141:2 (NASB)

“Moreover, the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Take also for yourself the finest of spices… and fragrant cane (kaneh-bosm)… You shall make of these a holy anointing oil, a perfume mixture, the work of a perfumer; it shall be a holy anointing oil.’” Exodus 30:22–25

“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Take for yourself sweet spices… and make incense, a perfume, the work of a perfumer, salted, pure, and holy.’” Exodus 30:34–35

Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; John 5:14

And they were casting out many demons and were anointing with oil many sick people and healing them. Mark 6:13

”…golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” Revelation 5:8

TOPICAL INFUSION INSTRUCTIONS.

This preparation is intended for external topical use only. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Test a small amount on a small area of skin before broader application, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Supplies

  • Dried botanical hemp, MCT coconut oil, Crockpot (slow cooker), Mason jar with lid, Thermometer (recommended), Cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer Dark glass bottle for storage

Basic Ratio

  • 1 ounce (28 grams) dried botanical hemp
  • 2 cups (approximately 475–500 mL) MCT coconut oil

Crockpot Infusion Instructions

  1. Break the dried botanical hemp into small pieces by hand. Avoid grinding it into a fine powder, as this makes straining more difficult.
  2. Place the botanical material into a clean Mason jar.
  3. Pour the MCT coconut oil over the botanical material until it is completely covered.
  4. Loosely place the lid on the jar (do not tighten completely).
  5. Set the jar into the crockpot and add water until it reaches approximately halfway to two-thirds up the outside of the jar.
  6. Set the crockpot to Low, maintaining an oil temperature between 160°F and 180°F (71°C–82°C). Avoid allowing the oil to boil.
  7. Infuse for 4–8 hours, checking the water level periodically and adding warm water if necessary.
  8. Gently stir or swirl the jar every hour or two, if practical.
  9. Carefully remove the jar and allow it to cool until it is safe to handle.
  10. Strain the infused oil through cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer into a clean container, gently squeezing the botanical material to recover as much oil as possible.
  11. Transfer the finished infused oil into a clean, dark glass bottle and seal tightly.

Topical Lotion Preparation, After the infused MCT coconut oil has cooled, thoroughly mix 10 mL of the infused oil into 1 ounce (30 mL) of your favorite lotion until evenly blended. Use immediately or store in a clean, sealed container.

Topical Anointing Oil Preparation For a topical anointing oil, blend a desired amount of the infused MCT coconut oil with 100% pure spikenard oil until you achieve your preferred consistency and aroma. Storage Store in a cool, dry, dark place with the container tightly sealed. Discard if the product develops an unusual odor, mold, or any signs of contamination.
